Truthful Career Consulting – For Your Current Job Search

Greetings - I placed this on CraigsList but as there's really no accurate spot for it there, I thought I'd repost here on this Blog. If you know someone who could become a client, send them to this page to review and they can decide if it warrants moving forward -RJ

Hello, my name is Reagan Jones and I live here in the great city of Austin, presumably like yourself. I’ve been a successful recruiter for 10 years and currently support the executive staffing program for the largest technology and personal computer company in the world.

After executing career strategies for friends and counterparts these last few years, I’ve decided to offer consultation services at nights or on weekends to those who seek to truly optimize their career search.

There’s no silver bullet for being out of a job; the key is probability.

  • You want to increase the probability you will be seen by the right person at the right time.
  • You want to increase the probability that when you have email dialogue or speak to a hiring authority that you stand to make immediate progress with them over your competition (Right now there is a lot of competition).
  • Your resume has to be ready, you have to know what to say, and you have to understand what the company is looking for beyond the expected; beyond the job description.

These are things I can help you achieve. It involves a number of sequential steps I will guide you through. I guarantee you one thing only - you will be in the best position possible to not only land a job, but land one that enriches your future and provides the opportunity to move forward in your life. I’ll not only work with you on the plan, but moreover on helping you make the right choice about what company is best for you, where you will be happiest, and what makes the most sense for your current and future life. It’s a big life, let’s get creative.

I’m not a typical business guy, because that bores me. I’m a Christian living in the world, who sees a lot of things and observes the way people work (don’t worry I’m not going to preach to you). It’s 100% on your shoulders to make it happen, but I’m here to clear the road ahead so you can see where you’re going, and encourage you as you move forward towards the career you’ve been hoping for.

Rates are flexible. Let's talk first and address cost accordingly.

If you’re interested in getting started, email me.

Renewed / Grateful / Ready

In the last few days so much has gone really well. I feel spiritually renewed, I started my new career with Hewlett-Packard today, I'm making real headway as I endeavor to position myself uniquely within the animal welfare arena (am I the first conservative animal rights guy in TX?), I started cycling again on long rides (50 milers) every week, I have a sport I can get behind right now as the Tour de France is in full swing and Lance in 3rd (!!!), I had a great weekend with some old friends, I feel very healthy, and ...AND...I got to speak on the phone with none other than the little professor himself, David Bailey, formerly of Team Honda and motocross legend whose career I've admired more than any other rider, for years. That was VERY cool.

What can I say, I'm not going to worry about another boot falling. Everything comes and goes. Jesus said that worrying doesn't add even a single hour to your life, so let tomorrow worry about itself. Taken from the creator of the universe, I'm going to allow myself to enjoy this moment. And joy is the real word, it beats pleasure every time. I love life, even though I've had my challenges which are probably worse than I let onto with my friends; but when things are good I can't even delve deep enough into how much it means to me. Everything that is good, from a single blade of grass to the grandest sunset, is thrilling. I am thrilled to have had any moment to deeply enjoy it, sans all fear in doing so.

I wish I could convince everyone to believe in God. I also hope to convince all my fellow brethren that animals are the last great "rights" initiative. God didn't ask Noah to put 2 of every kind on the ark so we could eat giraffe steaks. If it meant that much to God, how is it that our dismissiveness towards their suffering has become mute? More on that later, I'm still trying to figure out how to approach all of this. I definitely want to bring something new to the table though. I hope to learn how to express an opinion with grace in the process, something I never did well.
